Workers' Compensation, Part-Time Holidays


Performs a variety of administrative and customer service duties, assists with golf tournaments and administrative duties as they relate to the operation of the City of Copperas Cove Golf course. Other duties as required.

Works under the general supervision of the Pro Shop Manager/Tournament Director through the Recreation Superintendent.

Will perform daily, weekly and monthly duties required to ensure proper customer service, adherence to city policy and efficiency.

Performs daily register reconciliation reports through the POS system.

Merchandising items in Pro Shop facilities cleans restrooms, storage areas and building surrounds.

Parks and stores golf carts, empties trash, restocks items, cleans rental equipment, picks up trash in the parking lot, marshals golf course, check water jugs, etc.

Assists in the preparation and administration of special events and tournaments.

Assist the general manager with administrative duties including but not limited to payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, etc.

Maintains weekly schedules for pro shop, caddy shack, and cart staff.

Runs cash register and receives annual dues payments and distributes bills.

Answers telephones, take messages and distribute to appropriate persons.

Manages tee time sheet and handicap systems.

Keep golf carts orderly, neat and clean at all times also picks, clean and restock range balls.

Ensure proper customer service standards are being met at all times.

Know, understand and play the game of golf, assist with marshaling and starter duties.

Use the Public Announcement (PA) system accurately and properly as identified.

Be neat, clean and professional in appearance.

Have a good, professional attitude and the ability to work well with other employees and customers.

Open and closes, lock and unlocks facilities as needed.
Assists in inventorying, taking orders, shipping, and other customer related administrative duties.

Prepares documents and researches information to be used for reports and meetings.

Prepares contracts, takes payments, sends bills, handles cash, etc.

Perform other essential duties as required to achieve successful operations of the department and departments associated with the golf course.

The employee must have the ability to work well with others and have a good/pleasant attitude.

Regular and timely attendance is an essential job function.

Serves as a member of various employee committees, as assigned.

Other Duties as assigned.

High School Diploma or equivalent GED;

Six (6) months experience as a cashier, sales clerk, general office, accounts receivable, billing, record keeping, and customer service or equivalent combination of education and experience;

PGA Apprentice Certification and/or previous Golf Shop experience desired, but not required;

Be able to pass the food handlers class and meet Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) requirements for serving alcoholic beverages;

Posses a valid Texas driver's license be able to obtain one by date of employment.

Must be able to follow directions.

Shift Work is a must, be available on weekdays, weekends, holidays, mornings, evenings and nights.

Be a self-starter and show initiative.

Ability to be reliable and trustworthy individual with the ability to communicate well with people;

Ability to operate a point of sale register system, computer and office equipment;

Ability to receive and balance monies accurately and able to add, subtracts, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals;

Ability to perform full range of physical efforts and maintain standards required for duty execution;

Ability to be organized, possess general office skills and professional in appearance and demeanor;

Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.

Formal application, rating of education and experience; oral interview and reference check; job related tests may be required.

Point of Sale computer/register, calculators, keyboard, cash drawer, golf cart, range picker, ball washer, general office equipment, power tools, hand tools, copiers, fax, printers, telephone system, PA system, credit card machine, mobile or portable radio.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside weather conditions. The employee mainly works indoors, but occasionally is required to work outdoors being exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is moderate.
